Wanna help out / hang out? Some of the roles you can take on to make The Core's vision a reality include: Host, Barista, Event Leader, Coordinator, Mentor, Helper, Partner
Host - A Host is someone who has gone through Front Porch training, understands the missional-relational vision, and has some basic experience with the nuts and bolts of the place. This person would be trusted to oversee the operation of the facility during normal cafe hours, show hospitality to any guests who come in, and coordinate clean-up at the end. A host may possess a key to the building, but not necessarily, and must be assisted by at least one barista in order for the Front Porch to be open. E-mail Christina
Barista - This is a person who wants to work at the coffee bar, and serve other hospitality functions of the Front Porch, while working under the guidance of a host. A Barista's job is simply to help things run smoothly, and make every guest feel valuable and welcome. Please consider holding down one 3 or 4 hour shift per week. E-mail Christina
Event Leader - Anytime we have an event, a particular individual will be the designated Event Leader. If you have gained some experience at the Front Porch, and want to be the go-to guy or girl for one of its events, then this is a good choice. This can mean being in charge of a particular event every time it occurs, or scheduling in advance certain concerts, gatherings, etc that you will take charge of. E-mail Ryan
Coordinator - The Core is not about trying to "plug people in" to a certain game plan, it's about equipping Christ-followers to carry out their individual passions and callings. If you have a passion or calling that seems compatible with The Core, then consider becoming a coordinator. Some examples of coordinator positions are: College Ministry Coordinator, Music Coordinator, Discussion Group Coordinator, Accountability Coordinator, Financial Coordinator, Maintenance Coordinator, etc. E-mail Ryan
Mentor - Although things such as books, classes and training sessions can be very helpful in the discipleship process, mentorship is by far the most effective and rewarding means to true growth in Christ. God may be calling you to mentor another believer, even if you don't feel you are qualified. Often we learn more from mentoring than from being mentored. E-mail Josh
Helper - This is anyone who wants to volunteer to serve the needs of the Front Porch in a particular way. Some ways to be a helper include: cleaning, equipment repair, computer maintenance, soundboard or projector operation, childcare, or get your diploma! Wait... forget that last part. Anyway... this person will coordinate a time with the FP Manager to come and help out however they see fit. E-mail Christina
Partner - The Front Porch has many needs, and needs many people to support the vision. If you or your organization would like to donate money, or resources, you can become a Core Partner. Click here to learn more about donating.
